Give your students a field trip to remember at Knock Knock Children’s Museum! Two-hour self-guided field trips are offered to child-care centers and summer camps with children up to 3rd grade. As the name implies, this trip encourages children, along with their teachers and chaperones, to explore the museum at their own pace.
Scheduling Field Trips
Field trips are available for school-aged groups (Kindergarten and above) from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Tuesday through Friday afternoons. Field trips for young children (Pre-K and below) are available Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings from 10 am to 12 noon. Morning field trips for young children are limited to groups of 50 children or less. Due to the number of young visitors in the museum at opening, morning field trips are not available for school-aged children.
Prices
$10 per student
$10 per chaperone used to meet the required 1:5 ratio
$14 per additional adult (payable separately online here)
Teachers/paraprofessionals are free!
Chaperone/Child Ratio
Knock Knock requires one adult (over 18) chaperone for every five children. We strongly encourage camps and childcare centers to work within this ratio to ensure that students have the best possible field trip experience. Field trips with students with special needs can have more chaperones with pre-authorization.
The childcare centers and camps will be responsible for facilitating the booking of adult chaperones required to meet the 1:5 ratio. The $10 admission cost for each chaperone should be included in the payment Knock Knock receives from the school.
Any additional adults (besides those used to meet the ratio) that would like to attend the field trip must purchase a general admission ticket online for $14 here.
A final headcount with payment is due 7 days prior to the scheduled date of the field trip.
**NOTE: It is the sole responsibility of the childcare center or camp administration to determine the status of the adults (chaperone or additional adult) accompanying students on field trip.
Members
Additional parents/chaperones (not included in the 1:5 ratio) who are members will still have to pay $14 for admission to the field trip. Field trips are NOT included in member benefits.
Cancelation Policy
Field trips canceled with 7+ days’ notice before the scheduled date will receive a 50% refund, less the booking fee.
Field trips canceled with less than 7 days’ notice will not receive a refund.
Arrival
Groups should arrive at least 5 minutes in advance to check-in. Field trips that arrive prior to opening or too far in advance of their scheduled visit will have to wait for entry. Groups must leave by their scheduled end time regardless of when they arrive.

Parking is free at Knock Knock. School buses will be directed to park and unload at a designated location. If parking lots are full, buses will be asked to park 0.3 miles away at City Park just before the Raising Cane’s Dog Park.
Lunch
Knock Knock does not have indoor facilities for lunch, even in the case of inclement weather. The museum is located near Picnic Hill at City Park, where park benches and grassy areas are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
