Campers will participate in a hands-on exploration in a wide range of artistic genres, including portraiture, still life, landscape, painting, drawing, and sculpture. Campers will explore concepts such as color, composition, form, texture, and artistic styles, including Impressionism, Modernism, Surrealism, and Folk Art, through formal yet playful instruction. Throughout the camp, children will be introduced to the works and techniques of master artists such as Michelangelo, Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, and Georgia O’Keeffe, alongside contemporary and regional artists including Yayoi Kusama, Jackson Pollock, Clementine Hunter, and George Rodrigue. Here, they can make their own mini masterpieces!
The camps will be taught by beloved and respected early childhood educator “Ms. Boo” Hoshman, who brings more than 30 years of classroom experience to the program. Known for her joyful, child-centered teaching style, Ms. Boo creates an environment where children feel safe to explore, experiment, and express themselves through art.
